Apro un thread dedicato al grande maestro dell' espressionismo astratto americano recentemente scomparso, di cui io e Cris siamo da tempo ammiratori.

Ricominciamo una storia interrotta altrove, cercando di ripartire dalle origini dell'arte di Paul Jenkins.

Sia chiaro che io e Arte2011, il suo avatar è eloquente, siamo spudoratamente di parte

Non so com'è, finora non sono riuscito a farmelo piacere. E' vero il detto che il mondo è bello perché è vario. Ad esempio, dall'altro forum mi sembra di ricordare che ti piace anche William Congdon, e quest'ultimo piace moltissimo anche a me. Piace pure anche a Faccenda, che ieri sera su Orler diceva di comprarlo, se si riesce a trovare, senza stare tanto a guardare...

certo congdon, chwe ha vissuto in italia per molti anni, magari non dell' ultimissimo periodo è stato un grande artista.
io aggiungerei pure norman bluhm, james brooks, e tutta la scuola di ny, oltre naturalmente conrad marca relli

a me piacciono pure herbert ferber, david budd, olitski, stamos, carone, natkin, , friz bultman insomma l' espressionismo astratto al di là dei mostri sacri

William Congdon
per me perfetto esempio di come si possa essere disperatamente materialisti pur professando fede cattolica.
Detto dall'altro lato, il cattolicesimo di per sé non è affatto una religione con forza spirituale, ma già ben inserita in un pensiero materialistico (nella sostanza), cioè polenta materialistica con sopra uno spruzzo di parmigiano spirituale.
Perché non si vede il rapporto di coerenza tra spiritualità nell'arte e spiritualità nella vita. E, come notava anche Sgarbi l'altra sera, sopra i fedeli non c'è più uno spazio per Dio, ma travi e materia greve.
Scusate l'OT sullo spazio di Jenkins. Vorrà dire che analogo problema mi porrò per i suoi lavori.

io non mi interesso di religione, ma di arte.
congdon è stato un grandissimo artista al di là del fatto che è stato fondatore ricordiamo di comunione e liberazione
