ciao Maratoneta : Cassetto dinamico ...

Ciao a tutti.

Grecia 1249 pb. (1277)
Irlanda 766 pb. (797)
Portogallo 676 pb. (673)
Spagna 215 pb. (222)
Italia 161 pb. (167)
Belgio 109 pb. (112)

ANA-MPA - A 24-hour nationwide general strike and a rally in central Athens has been declared on Wednesday, May 11 by Greece's largest umbrella trade union organisations in the private and public sectors, the General Confederation of Employees of Greece (GSEE) and the civil servants' union federation ADEDY.

Also participating in the strike will be staff in state utilities and the broader public sector, bank workers, school teachers, staff in state hospitals and the ambulance service, local authorities and the media.

The strike is expected to affect public transport, except during the hours when the rallies are being held, with work stoppages scheduled for the rest of the day. State health services will operate with a skeleton staff for emergencies only.

PM wants minister to focus on task ahead

Amid apparent challenges to his leadership, Papandreou calls for government to show greater purpose

Prime Minister George Papandreou gathered his ministers on Tuesday, a day before a general strike, to urge greater unity in his government and to get them to commit to meeting the fiscal targets Greece has agreed with the European Union and the International Monetary Fund.
Papandreou’s call for solidarity from his team came a day after Health Minister Andreas Loverdos challenged the prime minister’s authority by calling for a reshuffle and indicating that the government was not decisive enough.
Defense Minister Evangelos Venizelos appeared to add to the skepticism on Tuesday by saying that Greece’s economic problems were essentially political problems and stemmed from the lack of direction and unity. The one-time PASOK leadership candidate later told journalists that he was referring to the need for opposition parties, local politicians, unions and other institutions to pull in the same direction. But his comment was seen as another strike at the premier.
Tuesday’s cabinet meeting appeared to be as much an attempt for Papandreou to re-establish control over his ministers as it was an attempt to coordinate efforts in a week when EU and IMF officials are visiting Greece, unions are holding a 24-hour general strike and there is growing speculation about whether the government will apply for more loans from its creditors or restructure its debt.
We are sending a message of belief in the country’s powers and determination to change Greece,” said Papandreou.
The premier admitted that the government has to be clearer and more effective in its actions. “This will be the best response to those who doubt Greece’s progress or even bet on its failure,” he added.
Papandreou had repeated a similar message when he met President Karolos Papoulias earlier in the day. The sudden announcement of the meeting sparked speculation about the prime minister possibly calling snap elections but he moved quickly to douse the idea.
The Cabinet is due to meet again next week to discuss the revised version of Greece’s midterm fiscal plan, covering the period up to 2015. Finance Ministry officials have been revising the details of the plan, which is expected to be much more ambitious in the hope that it will meet with the approval of the EU and the IMF.

Greece approves plan for F1 racing track

By Stelios Bouras

Greece has approved plans to build a Formula 1 racing track, south of Patras in the Peloponnese, after years of debating where to set up the circuit.
In a 94.6 million euro investment, the project will include buildings and facilities to support the racing track the ministry says will be 'of an international standard’.
“According to the study, the track will be able to host Formula One cars, Super bike and Go-Kart racing,” the Regional, Development and Competitiveness Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The project is expected to be completed in 36 months and needs to be approved by Parliament, the ministry added, helping provide a boost to tourism.
“After the completion of the investment, 497 new job positions are expected to be created and a significant boost to tourism the in the region,” the statement said.
The project will be located 20 kilometres southeast of Patras, in the Halandritsa area.

EURO GOVT-Bunds slip, markets focused on Greek woes

LONDON | Wed May 11, 2011 2:13am EDT

LONDON May 11 (Reuters) - German Bunds edged lower on Wednesday but remained broadly supported with investors still seeking out less-risky assets on concerns over whether Greece's debt is sustainable under its current bailout package.
At 0605 GMT the Bund future FGBLc1 was 16 ticks lower at 123.85, in line with after-hours trading when weak U.S. Treasury performance weighed on prices.

Speculation over whether Greece will receive more bailout funding was likely to keep peripheral trading volatile, as investors continue to price in a high probability that the country will eventually need to restructure its debt.
However, in the absence of fresh peripheral stress market participants saw scope for a further fall in Bunds prices with expectations that the European Central Bank still expected to hike rates in July creating upward pressure on yields.
"We're still very much headline-driven on Greece... but peripheral stress aside you have to think that the ECB is still looking to hike rates," a trader said.
A German Schatz auction later in the session should be supported by risk-averse investors, but with yields having fallen by around 20 bps since last week's European Central Bank meeting, analysts said valuations could be testing the extremes of investor appetite.
The 10-year German bond yield DE10YT=TWEB was up 2 basis points at 3.141 percent, while the two-year yield DE2YT=TWEB rose 2.8 bps to 1.738 percent.
